Our Story

The Coracao Story

As kids, we loved classic candy bars.

As adults, we discovered a harsh reality. Our favorite chocolates were packed with corn syrup, GMO’s, refined sugar, preservatives, artificial colors and many other highly processed artificial ingredients.

Due to health challenges, including dairy & gluten allergies, we could no longer enjoy our favorite chocolates!

We went on a quest for health and switched to a diet based on organic, minimally processed whole foods. It was life-changing, but we missed our favorite food... Chocolate.

Nothing gave us that nostalgic joy of our favorite childhood treats, that was made with healthy ingredients we could eat.

So in 2008 we decided to create it ourselves and Coracao was born.

We believe you deserve to enjoy delicious chocolate made with real, organic ingredients that leave you feeling great long after eating them. We believe that sustainable sourcing is incredibly important, which is why our cacao farmers are paid Fair Trade wages or above.

Our mission is to create new healthier nourishing takes on your favorite classic chocolates that not only taste better but leave you feeling great long after.

Pure cacao is one of the highest antioxidant foods ever tested. It is one of nature's highest plant sources of iron, magnesium, zinc and many other minerals.;
Our chocolate us uniquely sweetened with coconut sugar. Which is the sweet nectar from the coconut tree flower blossom and is 48% lower on the glycemic index than cane sugar. We use no cane sugar or refined sugars.
